[....] The Tea Party Command Center on Saturday uncovered the lost news report where former Republican Senator Jim DeMint raised the alarm back in 2010 of a leaked memo about a planned, 10 million acre Western land grab by the Obama administration of 17 sites in 11 western states.
The secret memo stamped, “Internal Draft – NOT FOR RELEASE” was leaked by a Department of Interior official to Utah Congressman Bob Bishop.
The memo titled, “Prospective Conservation Designation: National Monument Designations under the Antiquities Act” proposes that many nationally significant landscapes are worthy of inclusion in the NLCS and if enacted, could very well set off another BLM and property owner standoffs.
The areas listed may be good candidates for National Monument designation under the Antiquities Act; however, further evaluations should be completed prior to any final decision, including an assessment of public and Congressional support.

Interestingly enough, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that is at the center of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s battle over grazing rights, proposed a program of land consolidation for its checker boarded lands, particularly in Oregon, California, Wyoming, Utah and in Nevada.
The standoff in Nevada between the Bureau of Land Management agents and Mr. Bundy entered a new phase on Friday when where militia groups across the country have joined Mr. Bundy’s fight against the feds (BLM) who have circled his land and have stated that they are not afraid to open fire.
According to the Washington Times, a spokesperson for the one of the militia groups said to local “8 News Now” media station that he is not afraid to shoot.

The Cliven Bundy situation began twenty years ago regarding a land dispute between Bundy and the federal government over the grazing of cattle. Next, it became a story of protecting an endangered desert tortoise until finally it ended with the truth of the matter. This entire story revolves around U.S. Senators selling out Americans to a Chinese energy company, and no that isn’t the premise for a Hollywood movie, its politics. Yet, the Bundy argument is also bringing to light the fact that Americans haven’t forgotten that at times freedom must be defended.
The ongoing dispute over grazing rights between the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy is reaching a breaking point although the media is no where to be found. The initial dispute began in 1998 when a federal judge in Las Vegas first ordered Bundy to remove his trespassing cattle. The BLM, who was granted the authority to enforce the order, stated that Bundy’s cattle had been trespassing on U.S. land without required permits for over 25 years. Bundy responded by stating he doesn’t recognize federal authority on land that he believes belongs with the state of Nevada.
But in fact, neither the federal government nor Bundy and not even the state of Nevada are correct in claiming their ownership of the land because it is owned by the Chinese. In a story uncovered Friday that was previously published by Reuters years ago, one is finally given the truth of the dispute. The name of the article speaks for itself; U.S. Senator Reid, son combine for China firm’s desert plant.
According to the article, “Harry Reid and his oldest son, Rory, were both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert”. Furthermore, “Reid has been one of the project’s most prominent advocates, helping recruit the company during a 2011 trip to China and applying his political muscle on behalf of the project in Nevada. His son, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm that is representing ENN, helped it locate a 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory Reid formerly chaired the county commission.”
Separate appraisals valued the land at $29.6 million and $38.6 million. The commission agreed to sell it to ENN for $4.5 million and effectively sold out the American people. Let’s not forget the timing of this purchase as it just so happens to coincide with an April 5th 2013 ruling by a judge that authorized the BLM to impound cattle.
This ruling came last year after more than a decade worth of legal filings that began in 1998. In 1998 the Bureau of Land Management revoked Bundy’s grazing permit and issued a federal injunction ordering cattle off of the land and the dispute was thus ignited.
Exactly one year later the BLM, on Saturday the 5th, began taking some of Bundy’s cattle and tensions have escalated with calls for militia due to the enforcement the BLM believes is justified. The bigger issue’s that have become shockingly apparent is two fold; The militarization of these law enforcement officials themselves followed by Harry Reid’s selling out of American land.
The concern over the federal government involvement in exacerbating the problem is shared by Nevada state Sen. Peter Goicoechea. In response to being notified of tensions on Wednesday due to the involvement of military personnel from the federal government ,Senator Goicoechea stated,”if military personnel are down in that area, that equates to martial law“.
In an interview with Fox News on Thursday Cliven Bundy addressed his own concerns in pointing out that, “This is a lot bigger deal than just my cows. Its a statement for freedom and liberty and the Constitution”. The show of force the BLM is using in intimidating Bundy is the real story here. Cliven further stated on the Washington Free Beacon today that the government has armed the agents with military-style weaponry.
“They’re carrying the same things a soldier would,” he told the Free Beacon. “Automatic weapons, sniper rifles, top communication, top surveillance equipment, lots of vehicles. It’s heavy soldier type equipment.”
Even though the mainstream media has remained virtually silent on the situation, social media has not. Through social media the story is gaining momentum with the new found attention from not only legislatures but sheriff and ex-military officials around the country.
For instance, the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOSA) led by retired Arizona Sheriff Ricard Mack along with the Oath Keepers Organization are currently organizing a delegation of current serving western state legislators and sheriffs to travel to the site of the tense stand off.
The reason being, “to prevent federal government provocation of violence resulting in another Ruby Ridge or Waco type incident”. They also hope that their example of Oath-Sworn public servants defending the rights of the people will prompt Clark County, Nevada Sheriff Douglas Gillespie and Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to honor their oaths of office by taking action to defend the rights of the Bundy family.
