Once again, our lawless President has decided to unilaterally ignore a law that he helped create.

A rule from the Office of Personnel Management will allow thousands of temporary and seasonal government workers access to the government’s healthcare program, the Federal Employees Health Benefits program, and some will get government contributions towards their premiums.

There’s one small problem with this: Obamacare explicitly bans this.

As passed by Congress, Obamacare set up rules defining full-time workers eligible for coverage. Today, temporary federal workers with less than a year of service can’t enroll in FEHB. Seasonal employees working six months or less are also prohibited, as are many intermittent employees. And temporary workers with more than a year of service can sign up, but get no government contribution.

The OPM rule changes it to allow seasonal employees to enroll in the FEHB, with a government contribution to their premium, if they’re going to work a full-time schedule and are expected to work more than 90 days.

Also, it allows temporary employees who have worked for the government for more than a year to be enrolled in the FEHB, with a government contribution to their premium.

So once again, we have a lawless president acting lawlessly. If the President of the United States can disregard the law, what message does this send to all Americans?
