North Korea’s activities this week put it ever closer to resuming nuclear weapons operations, the New York Times reported today (see GSN, Sept. 24).

Pyongyang intends within a week to resume operations at the plant at its Yongbyon nuclear complex that produces weapon-grade plutonium from spent reactor fuel rods, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced yesterday.
