Analyst's note: Absolutely must read and carefully consider. The analysis and comparison of statements to facts are stunning and clearly presented in this article by Mr. Spencer. Two areas particularly caught my ear when I heard the statements. Mr. Spencer properly framed each one. Even before the 9/11 mosque controversy, many Americans are beginning to wonder if there may not be another reason for what we see coming out of this current administration.
The first one presented here also relates to the basic stated purpose for the 9/11 Mosque and deals with advancing tolerance and the dignity of mankind.
"Obama also said that Ramadan’s rituals of fasting and prayer “remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.”
It would be kind of him to explain how the Koran’s designation of non-Muslims as “the most vile of created beings” (98:6) advances human dignity, much less tolerance or justice. The Koran’s command that Muslims must fight against Jews and Christians until they pay a religion-based poll tax, jizya, “with willing submission and feel themselves subdued” (9:29) likewise militates against the idea of universal human dignity that Obama professes to have discovered in Islam."
In order to be sure that these comments of mine are not taken out of context, it is important to understand that I believe in fundamental gospel principles—humility, charity, respect for eternal truth, and recognition of God’s love for all— as taught by Jesus Christ. I also believe that when we must disagree with someone we should disagree agreeably. In short, I believe in the time-honored ideals of tolerance and mutual respect. I do not have intolerance with any people who peacefully practice their faith that may be different than my own.
I expect every individual to be loyal to their native land—the land in which they were born, and certainly to the land in which they live, work, and rear their family -- just as I am loyal to my own land of these United States of America. As such I do not want, and do not support sharia law being practiced within our great country.
I recognize that, "No constitution on earth has endured longer than this one. We seek, and usually find, the answers to today’s questions in this document of yesterday. It was and is a miracle. Both Washington and Madison referred to it as such. It is an inspired document written under the guidance of the Lord. James Madison, commonly called the father of the Constitution, recognized this inspiration and gave the credit to “the guardianship and guidance of the Almighty Being whose power regulates the destiny of nations, whose blessings have been so conspicuously dispensed to this rising republic.” (Petersen, Prologue, p. 95.)
I also believe it is our duty as American citizens to seek diligently for and support and uphold good, honest, honorable, and dare I say wise representatives to govern us. In this point, I believe that we can and must do much better, especially when I see and hear what is currently coming out of our nation's capital.
At this point, a growing number are not even sure who is actually acting as our president. If you think this a little too strong, then click here for the most recent chilling information regarding his identity. We see from the research of Dr. Jerone R. Corsi that -- "Remarkably, nearly two years into his presidency, Obama's legal name remains a mystery."
The second statement by Mr. Obama has to do with the "extraordinary contributions" that American Muslims have made to our country. Some might agree that the jury is still out on that point. I'm not from Missouri, but my mindset on this point is to "show me" by more than just words -- actions and deeds. Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country. For all who claim the United States as our country, then we must show it by our actions and our deeds -- words are cheap.
“And here in the United States,” Obama continued, “Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country.”
Islam has always been a part of America? Really? Will Obama provide us with a list of the Muslim Founding Fathers, the Muslim heroes of the American Revolution, the names of the Muslims killed fighting in the Civil War, World War I, and World War II—surely the President will have no trouble coming up with all that, will he? And he could also throw in a list of those “extraordinary contributions” that Muslims have made to our country. Aside from being the impetus for some extraordinary innovations in airport security, I can’t think of any. But I sure Barack Obama must be way ahead of me."
